The CH-54 Tarhe is a twin-engine heavy transpoirt helicopter developed
by the American company Sikorsky for the United States (U.S.) Army. The
CH-54 was primairly developed for the transport of heavy loads. The CH-54A
could lift loads up to 20,000 lbs and the CH-54B till 40,780 lbs. The
CH-54 was in service with the U.S. Army between 1964 and 1991 until it
was replaced by the CH-47
Chinook and Super Stallion.
